چکیده

The exposure of adult rats to oxygen at high pressure precipitates convulsive seizures.12 It seems that such exposures have an increased growth effect on the incisor3 and on the tooth germ of rat embryos in the uterus of mothers subjected to such seizures.4 In contrast, intermittent exposures to oxygen at atmospheric pressure promotes increased body weight of adult rats and embryos,3-5 but does not modify the growth rate of either the incisors or the tooth germ.34 We have suggested3,4 that this increased growth rate of the incisors and of the tooth germ may have been caused by the adrenal glands. It is recognized generally that adrenal glands have a protective influence in stress conditions; however, in contrast to this, adrenalectomy affords some protection against the stress of oxygen at high pressure.6 Newborn rats (in which the adrenal glands are not fully developed) were used to test the hypothesis that alteration of tooth germ growth by oxygen at high pressure is caused by the adrenal glands. Experiments were carried out to determine whether oxygen at atmospheric pressure or oxygen at high pressure modifies the growth

Influence of oxygen at atmospheric and high pressure on the developing tooth germ in rat embryos.

It is well-known that if animals are exposed repeatedly to oxygen at high pressure with attendant oxygen convulsion, residual motor disability in fore and hind limbs may occur.' Oxygen at high pressure also induces pulmonary damage,23 convulsive seizure,4 and changes in the endocrine system.5 Earlier experiments have indicated that increased oxygen tension might cause an increase in body weight...

The Growth of Multilayer Graphene over MCM-41 by CVD Method in Atmospheric Pressure: metal–Free Nanocatalyst

Graphene films were fabricated over synthesized MCM-41 nanocatalyst by chemical vapordeposition method, and the reaction was carried in atmospheric pressure at 750˚C. Acetylenegas used as a carbon precursor and the synthesis reaction took place in hydrogen atmosphere.Mesoporous MCM-41 was synthesized at room temperature, using wet chemical method. Thesynthesized metal free catalyst was characte...

Differences in growth pattern of bone and incisor of rats exposed to O 2 atmospheric and high pressure.

Three groups of young rats (age 22 days) were exposed intermittently (49 times), over a period of 44 days, group 1 to O2 at atmospheric pressure (OAP), group 2 to O2 at high pressure (OHP) (60 psig) and the third to air at atmospheric pressure (AAP) as controls. The average food consumption for the AAP group was 18.85 g, for the OAP 17.55 g and for the OHP 17.07 g per rat per day. The change in...

بررسی دینامیک ملکولی شیشه فلورید Zr/Ba/Na در فشار جو و 4 گیگاپاسکال

A constant volume, atmospheric pressure Zr/Ba/Na fluoride glass has been simulated by molecular dynamics with the limitations of the Born-Mayer-Huggins potentials, used previously and resulting in high simulation pressures, having been overcome. The simulated structure of this glass as well as its activation energy for diffusion are in very good agreement with those experimentally observed. T...

Study Of Interaction of Glutathione, Vitamin C and Vitamin E Under Hyperbaric Oxygen

In order to study the interaction of glutathione, vitamin C and vitamin E under hyperoxia (95 % oxygen) and hyperbaric oxygen (2.5 atmospheric pressure), 20 days old male Guinea pigs were fed with basal vitamin C free diet, while receiving a vitamin C supplement of either high concentration (50 mg/day) or low concentration (1 mg/day) for two weeks. Animals were than exposed to hyperoxia and hyp...
